SHILLONG – The Unexplored Paradise

About the book

Shillong, the enchanting land fondly called the ‘Scotland of the East’ with its picturesque beauty, imposing mountains, abundant greenery, mesmerizing waterfalls, mysterious caves and crystal-clear lakes entices each heart beyond words, with great ease. A perfect place to un-wind amidst natural beauty and serenity, it offers a unique experience far from today’s fast way of life. The real beauty of the city, with ultramodern developments not touching it, remains captivating to date since it is carefully guarded from being transformed into a concrete forest like other metros! Truly the abode of clouds that gently come down to float near us, the divinity of the rains pouring down every now and then, the sweet twitter of birds, the splendid hailstorm that surprises us occasionally, the incredible sunrise from amidst the hills – Shillong, with its irresistible charm, beckons me to her loving lap again and again and I feel only privileged to return each time as if it is my own home!
